Design Philosophy: The medallion design is one of the most iconic in Persian rugs. It features a central motif, often circular or diamond-shaped, that draws the eye toward the center. The medallion can symbolize unity, completeness, or the universe, reflecting the intricate symmetry and balance in Persian culture.
Story: The medallion design is said to be inspired by the grand domes of Persian palaces and mosques, where the viewer’s gaze is drawn upward to the center of the dome. This sense of focus and grandeur was adapted into rug designs to create the same captivating effect.
Interior Fit: Medallion rugs are ideal for formal living rooms, dining rooms, or entrance halls where you want to create a strong focal point. They pair beautifully with traditional furniture, rich wood tones, and classical or vintage decor. These rugs work best in spaces where elegance and symmetry are appreciated.
